During the last 20 years, software solutions have drastically improved and changed the way how to manage high-volume field service operations. isMobile has been on this journey all the way and is today one of the leading software companies with solutions that are used by many large customers in Europe. isMobile is known for its solutions' ability to handle change, both in the present and organisational over time. Today, we highlight one of the new initiatives at ismobile - the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in parts of the customer offering.

“We are fortunate to work close to many large and thus demanding customers. Our customers often ask us how they can develop their business by interpreting and learning from the large amounts of data that their service business generates. The answer today is – yes it’s possible and we have already started. Technologies, knowledge and mindsets are more mature today. But we need to work even more close to the customers in order to introduce AI in practical use. Bottom line, it’s about to improve processes in harmony with people.”, says Roger Djärf, CTO at isMobile.

isMobile sees many uses of AI-based services, for example when optimising driving routes, prediction of final project based on current status, detection of anomalies and quality assurance of repeated tasks.

An important area of AI is image recognition, which isMobile is investing in. As part of that, the company is involved in a project for a Dutch energy company to automatically fill in meter reading and complimentary data from a photo taken with isMobile's mobile app via self-learning image processing.

“The project goes according to plan. Both our customer and we at isMobile are learning from this project. One finding is that the field technician is out of network in some cases, which gives us input on the question of where the algorithms should be processed; in the cloud or in the mobile device.”, says Lars Lindbäck, Mobile Solutions Architect at isMobile.

“AI implemented in field service management is here to stay. We will definitely release new AI-based services in the years to come.”, Mikael Bäckman, CEO at isMobile concludes.
