We are awarding Samuel Kekkonen and Axel Tidström from TE3B the isMobile Challenge scholarship for their solid high school work on the use of AI to optimize road transport routes.
– This is exactly in line with what we are developing in our product isMobile Coordinator(TM) for companies with field service personnel. Reduced travel time and shorter driving distances between jobs provide good financial results and reduced environmental impact for our customers, says Peter Jonsson, CIO isMobile AB.
Summary of their work
This work examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can optimise goods transport in the logistics sector to achieve sustainable and cost-effective solutions. By developing an AI model and applying it to simulated transport data, the experiments showed that AI was able to reduce travel time for longer routes by 47.5% compared to manually planned routes. The results show the potential of AI to improve efficiency in transport flows, but further development is required to handle such complex and varied routes.
“Congratulations and have a wonderful summer!”
